Composition of green roof

A green roof consists of a multilayered structure starting with a waterproof membrane that protects the roofing construction from water, followed by a drainage layer that channels excess water away, and a filter fabric to prevent soil from clogging the drainage system. Above this is a layer of substrate, a special soil mix designed for plant growth, and finally the vegetation layer itself, composed of hardy plants typically including succulents, grasses, or herbs.
